Cabin Leader (June to August, 2006-2007)
In 2006, right after finishing high school, I worked for the summer as a Cabin Leader. This job included a variety of duties related to overseing the care of children ranging in age from 6 to 17. Along with all of the requirements for taking care of the children in the cabin, I also led cabin devotions, mentored my Assistant Cabin Leaders, led activities (both instructional and recreational), and participated in a variety of camp-wide games. Along with these things, I produced highlight videos each week to show the campers before they left.
Photographer (June to August, 2008-2009)
After two years in the Cabin, I moved to a support role by becoming the Camp Photographer. I took a minimum of 500 photos per week to provide for sale to parents of the campers, but most weeks the initial shot count was closer to 1500. In this time I also continued the practice of creating videos for each week with my spare time, even though it was not officially a part of my job description.
Dining Hall Staff (one week in July, 2010)
Having moved on to my work for Queen's IT Services in the summer of 2010, I was no longer able to work full-time at Medeba. For one last visit (at least for now), I decided to take a vacation week from ITS to go back and help out in the Dining Hall.
